Hard Ciders 101: What are Hard Ciders?
Bass & Flinders Distillery Maritime Gin
Gin
Description
The Maritime Gin is a fresh, savoury gin inspired by the coastline, sea breeze and rocky shores of the Mornington Peninsula. It’s made with locally foraged ingredients, drawing on the three facets that make the Mornington Peninsula unique - ocean, vineyards and bush. It tastes like a lick of salty sea air and is a combination of citrus and herbaceous.
Taste - lively and lemony nose with spice from juniper.
ABV - 37.5%
Price - $ 85.0
How to Serve
The Maritime Gin makes a great Martini as well as a G&T with Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic. For a Maritime Martini, fill a mixing glass with cubed ice. Add dry vermouth and stir 10 times to coat ice. Add Bass & Flinders Maritime Gin and sprig of saltbush and stir 30 times. Double strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with fresh lemon twist and a sprig of samphire.
Ingredients
The gin is made with locally foraged kelp seaweed and samphire, a salty crunchy coastal plant. Also into the botanicals basket goes coastal salt bush, lemon myrtle, currant bush, juniper and of course the grape-based spirit that Bass & Flinders is known for.
Best Pairing
The Maritime Gin pairs perfectly with oysters and other seafood dishes, as well as savoury or citrus-fresh food pairings.
